The Wine. 100% Grand Cru Riesling the color is pale light yellow and brilliant. The aroma is slightly reserved on attack with delicate fruitiness, gentle peach stone, citrus, passion fruit, herbs and physalis. The palate is full of minerals, with a long lingering flavors and soft acidity. It is very well balanced and integrated.
The Winery. Schloss Johannisberg was established in 817 in Germany and is the first Riesling estate winery in the world. It is attributed with discovering Spätlese (late harvest) in 1775, and today, the winery remains focused on crafting diverse Rieslings that reflect the inimitable character of the Rheingau. The winery was also recently ranked #12 Best Winery in the World on the 2020 “Top 50 List” by The World’s Best Vineyard Academy.
