McLaren Vale, Australia

Angove Family Wines

Warboys Vineyard 2017 Shiraz

The Wine. Deep, bright, intense purple with rich magenta hues. Rich, brooding aromas of ripe red fruits, hints of chocolate, spice and pepper and the promise of things to come. Luscious and seductive plum and red berry notes with blackberry, spice and dark chocolate. Restrained at first but opening up to showcase complex layers of flavour and intensity with great tannin structure and deft use of French Oak.

The Winery. Planted some time in the 1940’s, the Warboys Vineyard is believed to be one of the oldest in McLaren Vale. The entire vineyard is farmed and certified as organic and biodynamic which, in conjunction with judicious pruning, has allowed these old vines to attain a new balance and produce stunningly concentrated fruit. McLaren Vale is one of the finest wine growing regions in Australia, and with its Mediterranean climate there is a consistency of high quality wines produced. Shiraz wines from McLaren Vale are know for being full of flavour along with their richness, vibrancy, silky tannins, and bright fruit.
