Domestic Bliss—the West Coast: California, Oregon, and Washington

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Though they did not write it into the Declaration of Independence, Constitution or Bill of Rights, our nation’s founding fathers had wine on their minds for the grand scheme of the United States of America. “We could, in the United States, make as great a variety of wines as are made in Europe,” predicted Thomas Jefferson. “Not exactly the same kinds, but doubtless as good.” He dreamed of an America where “the dearness of wine substitutes ardent spirits as the common beverage.”

America may have geographically united from the east inward, but our domestic wine culture has evolved from the west. Though wine is produced in all 50 states, California, Washington, and Oregon today account for 95% of the wine produced in the United States and are home to well over half of the country’s wineries.

Eight West Coast winemakers come together to show off some of America’s best wines in this webinar  moderated by Lars Leicht, VP of Education for The SOMM Journal and The Tasting Panel Magazine.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
